I really wanted to like the book。 But the forward is better than the book。

A decent advice book but very heavy handed on the Christian view and honestly this was as helpful as the findings from “The Little Prince” or “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse。” A lot of higher meanings to run your life but very little else。 It was meh。

Great motivational book。 Great format - reminding me of the Alchemist - motivational and spiritual self-improvement through an ancient middle-eastern fable。

I read this book again and loved it。 I made me tear up a few times because it's more of a spiritual, inspiration book。 But after reading it I had some profound ideas and it was very moving。 I hope to commit some of the scrolls to memory because they are very inspiring and uplifting。 I read this book again and loved it。 I made me tear up a few times because it's more of a spiritual, inspiration book。 But after reading it I had some profound ideas and it was very moving。 I hope to commit some of the scrolls to memory because they are very inspiring and uplifting。 。。。more

The first time I read this book in the late 60s, I had just started high school。 It was one of the most influential books I’ve ever read in my life so when I saw it again, I decided to re-read it to see if I still felt the same way 50 or so years later and I do! I love love love this wonderful little book and would highly recommend it!

This book is regarded as one of the classics in the self-help category, i can see why。 Mandino does have ability as a writer, making a decent story to actually sell us the principles of selling things。 However, this ability fades as he stops being literary and starts writing something more of a pamphlet This book contains some interesting knowledge that shouldn't be ignored, but its impossible not to see the immense amount of propaganda that Mandino wants to force into the reader。 This kind of w This book is regarded as one of the classics in the self-help category, i can see why。 Mandino does have ability as a writer, making a decent story to actually sell us the principles of selling things。 However, this ability fades as he stops being literary and starts writing something more of a pamphlet This book contains some interesting knowledge that shouldn't be ignored, but its impossible not to see the immense amount of propaganda that Mandino wants to force into the reader。 This kind of writing actually makes a kind of interesting book into an annoying rant of a "morale of the seller"。 Some of it is interesting and important, but the rest is easily debatable and forgettable。 。。。more

This is a great book to boost self-esteem and serves as a reminder for the journey as a sales professional。 Each chapter shares the challenge of being in sales and gives a lesson for how to overcome it in the long run。

I had to control myself to put the book down so I could savor it in small pieces。 Personally, this is the best sales book I've ever read up to date, since it taps into the emotional state you get into whilst selling。 All the fears, the doubts, the negative impact of refusals and other people's emotions。It will be my personal Bible for at least another year with daily reading sessions, that's how much I liked it!If you pick it up, I hope it inspires you in some way and that you get richer (in all I had to control myself to put the book down so I could savor it in small pieces。 Personally, this is the best sales book I've ever read up to date, since it taps into the emotional state you get into whilst selling。 All the fears, the doubts, the negative impact of refusals and other people's emotions。It will be my personal Bible for at least another year with daily reading sessions, that's how much I liked it!If you pick it up, I hope it inspires you in some way and that you get richer (in all senses) once you put it down。 。。。more

This book was mentioned in the Matthew McConaughey book "Greenlights"。 It made a big impact on him, so I added it to my audiobook library。It read like an old-world parable。 Not the most interesting writing, but the story itself was unique enough to keep me going。 I appreciated the slight references to the New Testament stories。 I thought that was very neat。 Then the very very end was quite the reveal。 This book was mentioned in the Matthew McConaughey book "Greenlights"。 It made a big impact on him, so I added it to my audiobook library。It read like an old-world parable。 Not the most interesting writing, but the story itself was unique enough to keep me going。 I appreciated the slight references to the New Testament stories。 I thought that was very neat。 Then the very very end was quite the reveal。 。。。more

Hafid is the greatest salesman in the world (ancient middle east)。 This is his story of how he gained great wisdom and wealth and how he passed it on。 He first learned that failure will never overtake you as long as you are determined to succeed。 Hafid tries to learn how to be a salesman starting with a single robe。 He tries to sell the robe for days, but eventually led by love and awe, he gives the robe to a poor baby in a manger。 His master sees this as a sign to pass the ten scrolls of wisdom Hafid is the greatest salesman in the world (ancient middle east)。 This is his story of how he gained great wisdom and wealth and how he passed it on。 He first learned that failure will never overtake you as long as you are determined to succeed。 Hafid tries to learn how to be a salesman starting with a single robe。 He tries to sell the robe for days, but eventually led by love and awe, he gives the robe to a poor baby in a manger。 His master sees this as a sign to pass the ten scrolls of wisdom on to Hafid。 His master gives him the scrolls and 100 talents of gold before passing away。 Here are the lessons from the scrolls: 1- I will build a daily habit of reading the scrolls。 2- I will greet this day with love in my heart。 3- I will persist until I succeed。 4- I am nature's greatest miracle。 5- I shall live this day as if it is my last。 6- Today I shall be the master of my emotions。 7- I will laugh at the world。 This too shall pass。 8- I will multiply my value 100 times。 9- I will act now。 10- I will pray only for guidance。 Using these values to guide his actions Hafid builds a trade empire。 In his old age, when it is time to pass on the scrolls and their wisdom, he is visited by a man who brings the single robe that Hafid started with so long ago, and Hafid knows it is a sign to pass the ten scrolls on to this man。 I like these old stories of wisdom。 They reinforce the values my parents taught me, like how to work hard, learn and grow every day, and take advantage of the gifts God has blessed me with。 I am practicing the wisdom of scroll 3 and scroll 9。 Which scroll resonates with you? This book is for anyone looking for a way out of mediocrity。 (Rated PG, Score 8/10, audiobook read by Mark Bramhall, 2:33) 。。。more

I went in expecting a brief read on Sales techniques, and how wrong was I!!! The book gives the reader implementable principles to lead a good life。 The writing style is also impressive, and the prose reads like poetry。

The story itself is sort of jumbled and discombobulated, but the advice gleaned from the scrolls is legitimately good advice that applies to much more than sales, and I saved lots of quotes from those ten chapters。 This isn’t some scammy marketing book or ways to improve sales, it’s more of just a general life book。 It’s a very short and easy read, if I sat down and just read it end-to-end it would probably take a little over an hour。 It’s a good book to re-read。
